Presentation of the first 50 certificates by Prof.dr. Wolffried Stucky, President of the European Council for eSkills

The magnificence of the Dome-church in the centre of Amsterdam was the decor of the presentation of the first 50 certificates to Information, IT and IT-Business Architects.

The very heart of beautiful Amsterdam, between Central Station and Dam Square, is the of the domed Koepelkerk Convention Centre. This Church is a renowned location build in the 17th century. The church was completely renovated in 1995 and is one of Netherlands most historical conference venues.

The photo on the left shows the ambience where the presentations and the gala-diner took place.

Next to the certified architects in the Dutch Register and the certified architects in the International Register SCIA has invited (see the invitation) a large number of guests. Not everybody was able to come, but all of the organisations in the list favoured the work of SCIA.

The program started at 17:20h with a number of official presentations.

After these speeches the moment of the evening arrived

After these speeches the SCIA certificates were presented to the first 50 Information Architects, IT-Architects and IT-Business Architects by Prof.dr. Wolffried Stucky.

In the pictures on the left and on the right Prof. Stucky together with Theo van der Ven is looking at the certificatesand is satisfied with what he sees.

As conclusion of the official part of the evening SCIA chairman Theo van der Ven made a surprise announcement. SCIA has formed an Advisory Board. Coryphées from Gartner, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young and CEPIS have promised their cooperation as member of this Advisory Board. SCIA is talking with a Professor from a renowned Dutch University.

Then it was time for champagne. A toast was proposed to the Certified Architects and to the future of SCIA.

After the toast the gala dinner was served. Many interesting conversations and discussions too place at the respective tables.

Photo's taken during the "beer afterwards". Even then a lively discussion was going on.

We, the board of SCIA, are looking back on an eventful evening where a good mixture of knowledge and experience was on the table. We are very glad we were able to organize this event and it was further proof of the need for an independent organisation for certification as SCIA is. We are very happy we have found the support of CEPIS and members of the European and the Dutch Parliament and other people and organisations present for our efforts. We will do our best to go on with our efforts maintain and further our knowledge to let SCIA be what it is intended to be: the independent body for the certification of Information Architects, IT-Architects and IT-Business Architects.

The Board of SCIA.
