the following scheme to be able to determine between the architects available
today.

On top we find
the business. This is a very complex combination of areas in businesses.
These areas are seen as the context in which information, information infrastructure
and IT are placed. Most important here are:
- business processes
- mission, planning, policies
etc.
- other relevant areas
of expertise
By infrastructure
we mean the information infrastructure supporting the "business".
In this realm we find:
- hardware
- networks
- system software
- data
- application
- non-IT solutions
- system management
- implemented security
- etc.
By information
we mean the data with meaning the business we are working in. In relation to
business we look specifically at information and communication in business.
With regard to infrastructure this area will include all that is necessary to
be able to create an effective and fitting information infrastructure. This
creation process usually takes place in the form of projects. The realm of information
includes:
- Information policy and
mission
- conceptual models
- every relevant norm,
standard, guideline, policy etc. pertinent to information
- every relevant norm,
standard, guideline, policy etc. pertinent to information infrastructure,
including IT
- Information planning,
change, functional system management etc.
